Enjoying snowbird life + a little known Florida beach gem - Indialantic

Winter sun and beach vibes plus places to go in Indialantic on the Space Coast of Florida,

We flew South!

We made it to our Florida home to enjoy some snowbird life. After spending January in frozen New York, it's simply amazing to bask in 70 degree weather.

I can’t get over how much I look forward to waking up at 6:30 am to walk the beach at sunrise. And after a day of chores or exploring, it's soul filling to chat with neighbors while watching the sunset together. This is where I plan to grow old. 🥰☀️🏖️ This life suits me.

Discover a little known beach gem… Indialantic, Florida

Dine small, shop small and enjoy the beach life just a half hour drive south of Cocoa Beach.

Indialantic is a small beach town in Brevard County Florida. If you like the beach vibes of Cocoa Beach, but not the crowds, Indialantic will be perfect for you!

Plan to arrive for breakfast. Love smoothie bowls? Stop into Surfinista. Prefer a more traditional breakfast? Head a bit north of 192 on A1A and enjoy a delicious breakfast at The Blueberry Muffin. And yes, their daily muffin selections are to die for.  Made on-site, not too sweet and one of my favorites. On the weekend, there’s usually a bit of a wait, but its worth it.

Then head on over to the beach. If you want to be near the shops (The Longboard House) and restaurants (Bizzarro New York Pizza) you can pay to park at Melbourne Beach (where 192 meets A1A) or drive a little south at the elbow of A1A to Ocean Park. Both are just a short drive from downtown Melbourne. Not a fan of paying for parking? There are free parking lots if you continue to drive South on A1A. They don’t fill up as fast as the free lots North on A1A, but they do fill up on beautiful beach days.

After you enjoyed your day in the sun, Beachside Seafood starts serving dinner at 4. Start by ordering a homemade Sangria while you peruse their menu featuring a slew of fish dishes. They also have landlubber meals too, if you don’t like seafood. After your entree dig into a slice of their homemade key lime pie. It's one of the best around.

Plan to stay overnight? Port D’Hiver looks amazing! But if that’s too pricey, there are also a few hotels and motels on A1A both North and South of town.

There's so much more in Indialantic then what's mentioned here, so don't be afraid to spend a few days here if you can!

Hmmm, so what’s next?

The weather forecast is sunny and warm, so we’ll be getting in lots of beach and river time. Plus, we’ll be watching for a couple of Port Canaveral rocket launches that we can see from our balcony.

I’ll share the details next week… 😄🚀
